Have your say on the County Council's Vision Zero Strategy
Oxfordshire County Council made a commitment in June 2022 to Vision Zero - eliminating all road deaths and serious injuries by 2050: Ambition to eliminate all road deaths and serious injuries by 2050
The Council has just published its draft Vision Zero Strategy and is running a public consultation on it: Vision Zero Strategy consultation.
The consultation page notes that "road collisions and injuries are on the increase across Oxfordshire" and that the Council wants to improve road safety for all road users across the county.
It explains that by adopting a Vision Zero approach the Council aims to ensure that our need to travel does not compromise the well-being of ourselves or others and sets out the simple premise of the safe system approach - that no human being should be killed or seriously injured as the result of a road collision, whichever mode of road transport they are using.
If you want to contribute to the consultation, have a read of the draft strategy document and complete the online consultation survey or respond by email to visionzero@oxfordshire.gov.uk or post to Vision Zero Consultation, Freepost, Oxfordshire County Council by midnight on Sunday 10 March 2024.
